Lincoln Park North Pond City View

Happy Friday from North Pond in Lincoln Park! Signs of Spring are slowly but surely popping up and for that I am grateful.

I am also grateful for March Madness and that I always pick the Ivy League teams to do better than they should. My bracket is in great shape going into today and a victory for the Spartans will make for a stellar way to kickoff the weekend.

Enjoy the day, friends!

I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen.

Our standards aren’t exactly high at this point of the season but over 35 degrees at 9am and sunny? I’ll take it.

Ryan and I were out the door by 7 this morning to get some exercise and spend some rare midweek time together. Between that, coffee and this beautiful harbor view, my work day is starting on a very high note.

A look through the flowering trees in the Lakeshore East park spotted this father and daughter pair launching what looked to be their first kite of the season. After a few tries, it was up, up and away.

Lakeshore East is one of my absolute favorite parts of the city and while I miss living there so much, I love walking over every week to go to Mariano’s…and witness idyllic scenes such as this.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

I had my fingers crossed all April that the old saying was true- if we were going to get so many damn showers, some May flowers was the least Mother Nature could do to make it up to us.

On our little walk this morning, it seemed as if Spring had literally popped up over night- I mean, when did the trees go from being bare to in full bloom?  When did the flowers become so bright?  It was so beautiful and much appreciated after an April filled with a record breaking 7+ inches of rain.

The month is starting out strong- I like the look of May already.
