The Golden Arches

Popping in to Mickey D’s to get a fountain Diet Coke and a yogurt parfait this morning, I overheard this gem of a father-daughter conversation:

3-year-old girl with butterfly wings attached to her t-shirt: “I’m excited for my hamburger”.

Dad: “Well, I got pancakes–it’s 8am, they don’t have hamburgers this early.”

3-year-old:  “But this is McDonald’s!”

Dad: (Struggling between the fact that she’s a toddler and explaining the intricacies of McDonald’s dining schedule): “We’ll come back this afternoon.”

Cute Story! Well i couldn’t blame the dad for just leaving and deciding to just come back. It is quite tricky and hard to explain specially to toddlers. So why not save the hassle and effort and just come back on when they start serving.

It’s about time someone got upset that they don’t serve lunch before 10 since most people are mad they can’t get their egg mcmuffin after 10. (Early bird gets the worm…mcmuffin, people.) Or whatever the magical hour is for changing over.

Funny you should say that because on Monday, I was floored when I was not served my Egg McMuffin at 10:45am. It was tragic and I’m still not over it.
