Well, I’m in Florida so there is no snow, or slush, but it’s been pretty cold for this Florida girl. I’ve been downing coffee like it’s my job! I’m totally obsessed with coffee from my big tervis tumbler with palm trees on it! I’ve also been over-wearing fleece vests, love them!

Running when no one else will is what makes this time great for me. Seeing the beauty of a fresh snow fall on the lake path. Being the first to visibly make his mark. Chicago is beautiful year round and I like to enjoy it the best way I know, by running all over it.
Oooh gorgeous earrings:) Rehearsal dinner earrings maybe? Trying to make it out Thurs…would LOVE to, though we do have 8:30 reservations at Green Zebra. Yippee for veg-heads.
What gets me through cold winter days?
All the super fun things I love doing INSIDE! Playing cards with friends, Watching the NFL Playoffs in a nice warm bar with awesome people, Doing 2,000 piece jigsaw puzzles, and renting movies from Blockbuster (yes, we still RENT movies at BLOCKBUSTER, crazy concept, I know). Those are the fun things that keep me upbeat through the dreary winter months. (A cute outfit with fun dangly earrings always help!)
A trick to getting through the cold: Surround yourself with the people you love, the warmth from their hearts will melt snowflakes right off your eyelashes. That, and a fabulously warm pair of snow boots!
skiing. there’s nothing like hurtling down a mountainside 11,000 feet in the air on a crystal clear and crisp winter day. your skis beneath you, your knees bent and poles tucked under. that rush. that exhilaration. seriously like nothing on earth.
My massive knitted loop scarf is literally getting me through these winter days without freezing…it’s like a blanket I can wear around my neck! But my student’s winter joy is what keeps my spirits up – they love winter and get so excited about every snowflake that falls down! I can’t help but be infected by their glee!
Beautiful simmering candles that bring warmth to the room, a cozy blanket to snuggle up under, and a yummy vanilla rooibos tea in hand – good company is always a plus too 😉
