My parents are in town this weekend so first thing on the agenda was a walk- a G family Happy Hour.

Chicago vets they are but I wanted to show them my favorite spot in the city, a place that they probably haven’t experienced before.

You see, if you go out past Shedd Aquarium to the Adler Planetarium and stay on the lakefront, you find a spot that I think is really something.

Right as you round the corner on the backside of the planetarium, there is about 20 yards where the city disappears.  Tall buildings are out of sight, the sound of hustle and bustle subside and it’s just…water.

Sure, there were Friday celebratory Goose Island Summertime brews when we got back to my apartment but that walk, that view and my family was the ultimate happy hour.
