The announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement was made earlier this morning. While this officially dashes the hopes of girls around the world who wanted to become princesses, I think it’s kind of exciting. A royal wedding is a big deal and I love the formality around it all.
And hats. Girlfriend can rock the side hats. So classy, so classic, so regal. Exactly what a princess-to-be should be rocking.
The future Princess has such great modern style. Beautifully tailored coats, chic wrap dresses, preppy riding boots- I love pretty much every photo I see of her. I think the most exciting part of this (aside from a lifetime of happiness and all that stuff) is seeing what she is going to wear in the coming months. Engagement parties, royal photo ops, her wedding dress…she will officially become a style icon.
Just a tip, Kate- keep sporting hats. Bigger hats. Hats with feathers. Hats with birds nestled in them. Whatever you can get your hands on. You’re going to be a princess- if anyone can get away with it, you can.
