I had an email conversation with a friend this morning that started as “Happy Monday”, “How are you?”, “Sweater Vest Thursday” and ended up devoting entire paragraphs to “Monday Morning Honesty”. One sharing of a truth led to another and all of a sudden, it was two friends being real about where they’re at with some things in their lives, not painting over the ugly and sitting with things exactly as they are, right this second.
It made me wonder about how often I might paint over the ugly and not even notice.
It made me even more grateful to have a good friend that I can be real with, even that realness isn’t the pretty package I want it to be.
Monday Morning Honesty. I dig it.
